Prof. Enas M. Nashef obtaied his Ph. D. from the University of South Carolina, USA in 2004. He joined King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as assistant professor in the department of chemical engineering. In 2011, Nashef was promoted to associate professor. He was very active in research related to green engineering and sustainability and established collaboration with many universities including the University of Malaya, KL, Malaysia, where he was a co- advisor for several Ph. D. students. In June 2014, Nashef joined Masdar Institute (UAE) as an associate professor in the department of chemical engineering. In 2017, he joined Khalifa University of Science and Technology as associate professor in the department of chemical and petroleum engineering where he was promoted to full professor in 2019. Nashef co-authored more than 140 peer-reviewed journal publications. In addition, he received 9 patents from US and EU Patent Offices. He is also a recipient of several prestigious awards including the King Abdullah Award for best invention in 2013.
Dr. Umapada Pal, a distinguished Professor at the Institute of Physics, Autonomous University of Puebla, Mexico, and a pioneer in Nanomaterials Research in the country. He established Mexico's inaugural Laboratory on Nanomaterials Research. His affiliations include esteemed memberships in the American Chemical Society (USA), Materials Research Society (USA), Mexican Physics Society, and the Mexican Science Academy, among others. Dr. Pal serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal BME Horizon (Globasci, UK), an associated Editor of the Journal of Nano Research (Techno-Press, South Korea), and contributes as a Member of the Editorial Advisory Board of ACS Sustainable Chemistry (ACS, USA). Additionally, he holds positions on the Editorial boards of several other International Journals, lending his expertise as a reviewer to over 80 esteemed International Journals. With a prolific academic record, Dr. Pal has authored over 300 research articles in prestigious International journals and contributed 14 book chapters. His mentorship extends to supervising more than 60 graduate and undergraduate theses. Notably, he holds the esteemed position as the #1 ranked scientist in Mexico in Materials Science and is recognized among the top 2% of scientists globally.
Paulo C. DE MORAIS, PhD, was full Professor of Physics at the University of Brasilia (UnB) – Brazil up to 2013, Appointed as UnB’s Emeritus Professor (2014), Appointed as Guest Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology– China (2011), Visiting Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) – China (2012-2015), Appointed as Distinguished Professor at Anhui University (AHU) – China (2016-2019), Appointed as Full Professor at Catholic University of Brasília (UCB) – Brazil (2018), Appointed as CNPq-1A Research Fellowship since 2010. 2007 Master Research Prize from UnB, 2008-member of the European ERA NET Nanoscience Committee, Member of the IEEE-Magnetic Society Technical Committee, Senior Member of the IEEE Society, 2012 China’s 1000 Foreign Expert Recipient, and 2012 Academic Excellence Award from Brazilian Professor’s Union. He held two-years (1987-1988) post-doc position with Bell Communications Research – New Jersey, USA and received his Doctoral degree in Solid State Physics (1986) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais – Brazil. He graduated in both Chemistry (1976) and Physics (1977) at UnB. ProfessorMorais is member of the Brazilian Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – IEEE. He has served as referee for more than 50 technical journals, takes part of the Editorial Board of more than 15 technical journals and has conducted research on nanomaterials for over 40 years. He has delivered 170 Invited Talks all over the World. He is known for his research in preparation, characterization and applications of nanosized materials (magnetic fluid, magnetoliposome, magnetic nanoemulsion, magnetic nanocapsule, magnetic nanofilm, magnetic nanocomposite, nanosized semiconductors, polymeric dots, carbon dots, and graphene quantum dots). With about500 published papers in peer reviewed journals, more than12,500 citations and 16 patents, he has appeared in recent World ranking of top scientists, such as 2020-Stanford, 2022-Research.com, 2023-AD Scientific Index, and 2023-Research.com.
Prof. Blaž Likozar is a head of the Department of Catalysis and Chemical Reaction Engineering at the National Institute of Chemistry (NIC), leading the programme “Chemical Reaction Engineering”, as well as numerous research projects (15 H2020 / 50 in Horizon Europe alone). His expertise lies (among others) in heterogeneous catalysis materials, modelling, simulation and optimization of process fluid mechanics, transport phenomena and chemical kinetics. He worked at the University of Delaware in 2014–2015 as a Fulbright Program researcher. He has authored >330 articles, was cited >10000 times, having a h-index of 50. He is also involved in many industrial projects, amongst others, with TotalEnergies, Evonik Industries, UPM, Novartis, Carbon Recycling International… He is a recipient of Pregl and Zois awards.
Jingsong Huang’s initial background was experimental organic chemistry and physical chemistry, with some experience in the chemical industry. Later he pivoted to theoretical and computational studies of physical and chemical problems of functional materials. Research expertise lies mainly in the modeling/simulation/theory of structure-property correlation, weak intermolecular covalent bonding interactions, and electrical energy conversion/storage, by development of theoretical models and by application of various levels of theory. With a background of an experimental chemist and expertise of a theoretical and computational chemist, his primary goal is to bridge experimental observations with theoretical insights, thereby guiding material discovery and optimization.
Professor Sung Hee Joo has over 20 years of experience in Environmental Engineering and Science. She has expertise in the field of advanced treatment technologies for emerging environmental contaminants, environmental nanotechnology, toxicity assessment of nanomaterials, chemical nanoscience, environmental chemistry, the innovative processes of water/wastewater treatment, the application of membrane technology in wastewater, and the fate and transport of contaminants in the environment. She is a recipient of multiple awards and has published research and review papers in scientific journals and am the author of three books, titled “Assessing the Effects of Emerging Plastics on the Environment and Public Health”, “Applying Nanotechnology for Environmental Sustainability” and “Modern Inorganic Chemistry: Nanotechnology for Environmental Remediation”.
Dr. Vijyendra Kumar is a distinguished academic and researcher with a PhD in Chemical Engineering from NIT Raipur, where he specialized in the application and reuse of heterogeneous Fenton catalysts in wastewater treatment. With a wealth of experience, including positions as HOD and Associate Professor at RIT Raipur and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at IIT Guwahati, Dr. Kumar has significantly contributed to the field of environmental engineering. He has published extensively, including book chapters on advanced oxidation processes and biochar in wastewater treatment. Dr. Kumar's research interests encompass sustainable water management, industrial waste treatment, and the development of advanced materials for environmental applications. He is actively involved in professional organizations and has presented his work at various national and international conferences.
Amina BOUDOUAYA is a PhD student specializing in the application of biochar for soil enhancement, with a particular focus on improving the properties of sandy soils in arid regions. Prior to pursuing their doctoral studies, Amina completed a Master’s thesis on the valorization of tomatowastethrough drying processes for the determination of antioxidant properties. This work contributed valuable insights into sustainable agricultural practices and waste management. In addition to their research, Amina has experience teaching courses at the both universities Ouargla and Adrar as an assisstent professor, where she shared its expertise and passion for environmental sustainability and process engineering with students. Recently, she is working as a process engineer in the Oil & Gas industry, where she applies her knowledge of chemical processes and sustainable practices to optimize industrial operations. Which allowed her to align her previous experience in operating lab protocols, Equipment manipulation and new technologies with her current job tasks and employer's expectation
At a reputable government university in Sri Lanka, Mr. Suresh Aluvihara earned a first degree in Earth Science, Mineral Science, Water Science, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. Subsequently, he finished his master's degree studies in the fields of environmental and pollution control engineering, water treatments, air pollution control, and materials engineering at the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Earth science and engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, and material science and engineering are his areas of interest in research. As a well-known young researcher, he has published more than 110 insightful research articles in the aforementioned fields in high-indexed journals, international research conferences, abstracts, conference papers, full-length papers, and book chapters. In numerous academic conferences, he has given keynote addresses, plenary talks, invited talks, featured talks, and guest lectures. In the interim, he participated in several outstanding conferences and workshops as a moderator, reviewer, and member of the organizing committee. Additionally, he worked as a reviewer, editor for a few special issues, and member of the editorial board for several reputable journals. In the realm of academic research and competition, he has achieved several noteworthy and noteworthy things, including winning young scientist awards, best thesis prizes, and participation in highly competitive workshops.
I’m a chemical engineer with a strong focus on sustainability and green energy solutions. My commitment to environmental innovation led to an opportunity to pitch my ideas at Expo COP 28, where my project received a grant for further research. I’m dedicated to advancing sustainable technologies and passionate about driving impactful change in the field of green energy.
Dr. Pranjal Kalita is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, CIT Kokrajhar, Assam, India. Dr. Kalita completed his PhD degree from National Chemical Laboratory, Pune. After that postdoctoral research completed from Georgia Intitute of Technology (USA), Iowa State University (USA) and NIMS (Japan). Prior to join in CITK, Dr. Kalita worked in TERI, New Delhi. He credited more than 65 publications and couple of awards, produces one PhD and 12 MSc students. Presently, supervising 5 PhD students in his research lab. His research interest is in the area of heterogeneous catalysis, green catalyst, porous materials, nano composite, waste material, grapheme, carbon nitride, intermediate & value-added chemicals, platform chemical, biofuel.
Dr.Manasi Buzar Baruah is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar . Dr. Baruah completed her PhD degree from Gauhati University, Assam, India. Dr. Baruah produced one PhD student, supervising 4 PhD students, and couple of publications in peer reputed international journals. Her research interest is in the area of green materials, nano composite, waste material, silk-based materials, grapheme, carbon nitride, waste water treatment, photocatalysis, dye degradation
